Wreck and Rescue

Introduction: just as in this ship voyage, many are heading for shipwreck and many need to be rescued. This story tells us how to avoid the wreck. But, if it has already happened, it provides a means of rescue.

- How to be Shipwrecked
Avoid these actions in order to avoid shipwreck
- Get on the Wrong Ship (v. 6)
Genesis 7:1 - Noah's second cousin, Zoah, kept his little boat close just in
case Noah was right. Jesus Christ is the ark of
safety.
- Sail Against the Wind (v. 7)
Wind: picture of the Spirit of God (John 3:8) He will guide us if we let Him
(Romans 8:14; Acts 16:6-7)
- Keep Putting Off Any Action or Decision (v. 9)
- Wait until it is convenient (Acts 24:25)
- Refuse to Listen to God's Truth (v. 10-11)

CONCLUSION: If you are shipwrecked, take the steps to be rescued. If
not, ask the Lord to show you if you are heading that way.
